Patios & Paving in Bicester
New natural stone patios laid, and old flagstone patios lifted and relaid.
I lay patios in natural stone for homes around Bicester and across Oxfordshire, from small seating areas to large terraces. One recent job was an 80 square metre French limestone patio laid alongside a natural stone extension.
Older patios are often worth saving. Uneven or rocking flagstones can be lifted and relaid on a sound bed, broken flags replaced with matching stone, and the joints re-mortared. A clean at the end brings the colour of the stone back.
Because I also build walls and steps, a patio, its retaining walls and the steps down to the lawn can all be done as one job by one team, with the waste taken away at the end.

Before and after
Flagstone steps restored in Bicester
These natural flagstone garden steps had sunk and broken up. I lifted the flags, re-bedded them level on their brick risers and re-pointed the joints.

“Chris is simply an excellent mason. He changed numerous flagstones on our ancient patio, erected a new fence, mortared all the walls and cleaned all the stonework all to a superb standard. And took all the waste away. He is supported by a great team.”
Patios: common questions
Can you relay my existing patio instead of replacing it?
Yes. If the stone is in good condition, I can lift the flags, re-bed them level and re-mortar the joints, replacing only the ones that are broken.
What stone do you lay?
I lay natural stone paving, including limestone and traditional flagstones. I can advise on what suits your house and how you'll use the space.
Do you take the waste away?
Yes. Old paving, spoil and rubble are cleared and taken away when the job is finished.
