Brick & Stone Cleaning in Bicester
Pressure washing and moss and algae removal for brick, stone and patios.
Years of weather leave brick and stone green, black and dull. I clean brickwork, stonework and patios around Bicester and across Oxfordshire, using pressure washing and moss and algae removal treatments to bring the original colour back.
The cleaning is done by a mason, which matters. Soft old bricks, lime mortar and natural stone can all be damaged by too much pressure, so I choose the method to suit the wall. If the cleaning shows up failed pointing or damaged bricks, I can repair them while I'm there.
It's a good first step before repointing, or on its own to smarten up a house front, garden wall or patio.
Tell me what needs cleaning and roughly how big it is, and I'll give you a quote.
“Chris is simply an excellent mason. He changed numerous flagstones on our ancient patio, erected a new fence, mortared all the walls and cleaned all the stonework all to a superb standard. And took all the waste away. He is supported by a great team.”
Brick & Stone Cleaning: common questions
Will pressure washing damage my brickwork?
It can if it's done carelessly, especially on soft old bricks and lime mortar. I'm a bricklayer and mason, so I match the cleaning method and pressure to the wall.
Can you remove moss and algae from walls?
Yes. Moss and algae are removed from brick and stone walls with a treatment made for the job, followed by cleaning.
Can you clean and repoint at the same time?
Yes. Cleaning first shows the true condition of the wall, and any failed pointing or damaged bricks can then be repaired as part of the same job.
